Sammy Stayton
Hi, I’m Sammy. I’m looking forward to getting to know you, and I believe it’s important for you to know about me too. I’m a queer, white, able-bodied person, living and working in the Kansas City region. I hold clinical licenses in social work in both Missouri and Kansas. I’m passionate about partnering with people to explore identity, find balance during life transitions, and heal from trauma.

My approach
I believe that you are the expert in your own experiences. My role is to support your growth, celebrate successes, and hold space for the hard stuff you are carrying. I will work with you to create a personalized approach to therapy based on your needs, values, and preferences. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and can use this therapy approach in trauma work for clients who want to have less distress, anxiety, or self-blame about past experiences.
